The Proud New Daddy!
DJ and Leslie welcomed their beautiful baby girl into the world on Saturday, April 21st, which was also "DJ Emery Day" in our hometown of Bellefonte, PA! Baby Carlee and the rest of the family are doing well! At her last appointment she weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz.
During our visit this past Sunday (May 27) I took a few pictures of daddy and his little girl! This isn't the first time DJ was able to hold Carlee, but it was the first time I've been there to see him do it! There are a few more pictures in the photo gallery! Including some from DJ's visit from President Bush!!!!!
Service and Sacrifice
On February 7, 2007, while serving our country on a checkpoint patrol in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, Cpl. David "DJ" Emery was severely wounded by a suicide bomber. DJ was near the end of his second tour in Iraq and looking forward to returning home to his wife Leslie for the birth of their first child Carlee in May. This brave Marine continues to fight for his life at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. DJ's mother Connie and wife Leslie continue to stay by his side every day. We want to show DJ how much his service has meant to our community and our country!
